This genuine working horse ranch in the Pocono mountain region gives you rustic luxury accommodations with an authentic Old West experience, Championship Rodeos in summertime, and chance to participate in cattle drives. There is unlimited horseback riding on forest trails in each season and plenty of amenities for all ages to enjoy year round. Join the other cowboys and cowgirls and dance to popular tunes in the saloon. Be as active as you want or relax and watch the sun set over the lake.

Private cabins are located under huge trees and some are lakeside or with a lake view. The picnic area by the lake features a large outdoor stone grill and dock to access rowboats and paddle boats. The main lodge entrance features a 2-story stone fireplace and western decor where you can enjoy free coffee or hot chocolate and read a book or cuddle up by the fire. Flatscreen tvs are in the lobby and saloon for your convenience.

Enjoy your all-inclusive stay whether one night or a package deal for longer stays of a weekend, holiday weekend, Monday to Friday, or a full week. Special rates are available for children ages 3-7 called Little Partners and ages 8-12 called Junior Wranglers. Children age 2 and under are free. Rooms and cabins are various sizes to accommodate singles, couples, families, and large groups.

Meals are either served at your table or buffet style and our chef will accommodate special dietary needs. Complimentary fresh brewed coffee is available all day in the great room of the Main Lodge and there is hot chocolate for youngsters or non-coffee lovers.

Malibu Dude Ranch got its name from the original owner, Lee Thursby (most known for appearing in Camel cigarette ads back in the late 1930s), who named it after the Malibu Beach he loved in California. He built the ranch in the scenic Pocono Mountains near the pristine waters of the Delaware River as a private getaway to share with friends. It was opened to the public and there were a few other owners over the years.

Dr. Detweiler first visited the ranch as a young child with his parents, returned over the years and eventually with his own family. After learning it was for sale and a proposal would raze the lodge, cabins and other structures and replace them with a townhouse style residential community, he and his wife bought it in December of 2010. Extensive renovations have given the ranch new life.

The Detweiler family takes pride in providing quality equestrian experiences and continuing western style hospitality to all ages here in the East where the early pioneers first started their journey West.
