Press Release - Echo Valley Ranch and Spa
Remote BC ranch ranked top destination in Canada by TripAdvisor
Echo Valley Ranch and Spa Feb 01 2012
s BC the best place in the world? According to a new announcement by a major travel ratings service, some parts of it certainly are.
Tiny, remote Echo Valley Ranch & Spa has just won an award that the biggest, swankest and toniest hotels in all of Canada could not accomplish. In a recent announcement by global travel website TripAdvisor, the wilderness resort in the southern Cariboo placed third overall of the best hotels in the entire country in the prestigious Travellers Choice Top 25 Hotels category, beating out such famous names as the Fairmont in Whistler and the Opus boutique hotel in Vancouver.
"I don't know exactly how they rate hotels or guest ranches, but we just hit 100 reviews on the TripAdvisor website and every single one is positive," says Echo Valley Ranch & Spa owner Norm Dove. "All these reviews are voluntary, so I guess receiving a 100 percent guest satisfaction response has something to do with this award. This recognition from the travellers themselves is an amazing vote of confidence, because I think very few people have ever heard of us."
Echo Valley Ranch & Spa is located at the foot of the Marble Mountain range, about an hour's drive west of Clinton. Its attractions include horseback riding, wilderness hikes, gold panning, luxury Thai spa, fly-fishing, fantastic food and dedication to personal service. Owner Dove says the ranch's remote location is one draw, but its "harmonic convergence" is the key to the extraordinary TripAdvisor guest satisfaction response.
"We are located exactly at the precise convergence of four separate and distinct biomes, or geographical regions," says Dove. "We have canyons, grasslands, mountains, boreal forests all meeting together at our door. The view is spectacular and the ranch itself is a true piece of heaven on earth. But there is something more than that. All our guests refer to it in their reviews. It's a spiritual feeling, a combined mix of emotions."
"My wife is Thai and half of the staff is Thai," says Dove. "We have BC cowboys combined with luxury service. We have horses and a world-class chef. We enjoy guests from Canada and the US, Europe and around the world. Every review points to the same response. Is this the 'Best Place on Earth' as Tourism BC likes to promote? Well, yes, I think this award shows that it is."
