Lazy L&B Ranch offers authentic ranch vacations, where you can experience the real ‘Wild West’. Located in Wind River’s East Fork Valley, Wyoming (see, it even sounds like it’s straight out of a movie), Lazy L&B was started in the 1920s and is known for its extensive scenic horseback riding and family-friendly atmosphere.

Experienced wranglers match you and your family with your perfect equine partners, then take you exploring. Choose from a range of rides that suit you, from relaxed rides along the river to loping through the diverse 80,000 acres of high country with knowledgable wranglers as your guides. Set in spectacular scenery, Lazy L&B gives guests the opportunity to experience deep river gorges, mountain forests and the painted canyons of the Wind River Indian Reservation. You’ll create memories that will last a lifetime and enjoy experiences your children will want to tell all their friends about.

Family time and family-free time, too

Lazy L&B is home to the Halmay family and parents Jason and Deb have worked hard to develop a friendly ranch atmosphere that will suit every family.

With a truely flexible approach, visiting families can balance quality time together with all-important time apart. While children make friends their own age riding out under the supervision of experienced wranglers, parents can take some time to explore the Wild West at their own pace in adult-only groups. And while many ranch nights will be a cosy family affair, children can opt to join a supervised evening hay ride during their stay allowing parents to enjoy a child-free sit down dinner and cocktail hour on the porch.

It’s not just about the riding

If you like riding but you’re not sure you want to spend all your time in the saddle, Lazy L&B can cater for you, too. Try fly fishing in one of the four local rivers, take a day trip out to the local rodeo or explore the stunning surroundings on foot.

July brings great wildlife and warmer weather. In August, you can experience dramatic summer storms. And September shows a range of golden colours and crisp ranch mornings.

Refurbished accommodation

Experienced business couple Jason and Deb are sympathetically renovating the 1920s ranch and guest cabins in stages to ensure you have the best stay. Cabins are furnished with a casual western style and sleep from one to eight.

For those who can’t quite escape from business commitments or the teenager who must instantly share their photographs on Facebook, wi-fi is available. Little touches, such as the grapefruit sage toiletries reflecting the sagebrush on the ranch, highlight the couple’s attention to detail. And with a friendly, open welcome to guests, they strive to ensure they provide the high level customer service that they would like to receive themselves. (A top tip – Jason and Deb are experienced event planners making Lazy L&B a potentially ideal location for a special birthday or anniversary!)
