Riding and Relaxing, a guest recounts her stay at Tod Mountain Ranch!

For twenty six year old Margaret Nelson, a trip to Tod Mountain Ranch guest ranch in British Columbia, was just what she needed to find some peace and quiet from the hustle and bustle of life. Here we catch up with Margaret to share her experience.

A relaxing stay at a Tod Mountain, a guest ranch vacation destination!

In May 2010, I decided it was time to take a break and look for the ultimate holiday where I could relax and enjoy a horseback riding holiday without there being a ton of people around.

I was Googling and came across Tod Mountain's guest ranch website. I liked the area and the size of the ranch. The fact that the maximum guest number was only 16 reassured me that there would be more personalization to the experience.

I was hoping to experience some peace and quiet and a few days of horseback rides and enjoy something I hadn’t done before.

Aside from the wonderful horseback riding experience I had, the people were the real highlight.  Tracey, ranch owner, and Cheryl were two of the best hostesses I have ever met and made me feel right at home.

I was travelling alone, yet I never felt that way while at the ranch. I even got to celebrate my birthday at the ranch which was an awesome experience.

This guest ranch experience also gave me the quiet and relaxation that I wanted, along with excellent rides and getting to attend the neighbour’s calf branding party. This was such a great new experience, and it was amazing to be able to attend with my new friends.

The only downfall was that it had to come to an end. I was sad to leave, but I left knowing I had made some great friends. Thank you, Tod Mountain, for an amazing guest ranch vacation experience!
